On another forum I am a member of I can post a picture directly from my computer by clicking on the paper clip shown below. Is it possible to post a picture directly from our computer as opposed to logging on a hosting site to upload a picture there and then give it a url?

The FAQ's say "all registered members can turn-off the left-column in your User CP as follows...". But when I do that it doesn't seem to make a difference. When you go to edit your profile in the User CP it implies that you have to be a Premium member to disable the left side. Which is it: all registered members or only premium members?

Mean N/A '07 pretty much loaded.
Mods to date: Kappashere CAI, billet grille, Helo rims, built-in garage door remote, JPM leather covered tulip (trim over waterfall), interior de-silverization including body color boomerang, radio, switch bezels and door hardware, retro gauge overlay, Halo DRLs, headlight bezel blackout, SOLO dual axle back exhaust, mesh rear fascia insert
Next up: final exterior de-silverization (windshield trim)

Speaking of paid members, many of us are paid members from way back, and have stars (gold or silver) that appear under our forum names. Now there seems to be a new scheme with new little plaques under the names. The fees seem to be a LOT lower than when many of us paid our lifetime shots.

Will there be any attempt to reconcile the differences in the old and new paid statuses (if that even is a word - - - you know what I meant.)

All registered users can turn off the left column on certain pages. I will update the FAQ to reflect this. Sorry for the misleading sentence. Premium members can turn it off on all pages. I will clarify the wording. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

I gotta say I liked the old format better. I understand the desire for speed but perhaps we van make the color changeable through themes or something. This blue is a bit on the in your face side.

It IS possible to bring much of the top banner and graphics from the old look back.

Go to "User CP", "Edit Options" and scroll to the bottom where you will find "Skins". If you choose "Solstice #2" from the list and click on "Save Changes" at the bottom the site will look a little more familiar.

Guys its not so much the colors to me but the constant advertisements, even if your a member. Some sites delete the advertisement for members. I just liked the old one better. Too much commercialism, if thats a word.

Unfortunately, I'm not finding this layout any faster. That's aways been my complaint with this site is that it's SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOW, and it seems even worse now.

That is a valid question. I will ask the team about it tomorrow morning.

The advertisements were a "necessary evil". The same community is here as the "old one". Check out the FAQ for more information. We want the site to stay alive and run properly. Some money must be generated for the site to at least pay for itself. The longevity of the forum depends on it.

Ow! My retinas! The new color scheme is purdy, but I wish I'd known it was coming. I actually considered reducing the brightness on my monitor!

I would never have called it slow, but the site does seem to be loading a bit faster for me.

All the leaves are brown and the Sky is that wine color.

Most sites delete the largest % of advertising for their supporting members. Regular members will see less than a guest but more than a supporting.

Can't speak for the speed, spam filters or any other internals, but I'm sure there was good reason for changing all that. The forum gurus are thanked for their efforts in this regard, buttttttt........

who's idea was the ghastly turquoise color? Can we please be given a choice on this ?

I don't really like it. Looks like every other automotive forum I am on now. I understand the need for the upgrade, but I will miss the old layout. It was unique, just like the Solstice.
