Any setup we do can always be changed later if need be. The categories are not set in stone. If they don't work we can always try tweaking them.

Hi Troy, was just sitting here (actually was on a different computer from my normal one, and because I can't remember that URL to a favorite GM site), and I was wondering if you might be able to add a Links area on the Solstice board that could reference some? That sentence was a mess, but I hope you get my drift.

Avatars

Could I suggest that you add the different body color pictures of the Solstice to the avatars section so that each member can at least choose the color of car that he/she has ordered? I ordered aggressive red for example.....

General Forum Housekeeping

Saw this:

General Solstice Discussion (112 Viewing)
Forum for discussing general topics on the upcoming 2006 Pontiac Solstice.

Technical Solstice Discussion (11 Viewing)
Forum for discussion of the technical and performance aspects of the upcoming 2006 Pontiac Solstice. Learn about factory horsepower, torque, superchargers,as well as aftermarket performance parts.

. . . and I was wondering if one of the super mods could drop the "upcoming" text . . . seems like the Solstice is finally here.

I noticed that you dont have any place to discuss the technical aspects for the body and interior. With all the talk about the body panels on the solstice being removeable I would think that the aftermarket body kit industry is going to be big for this car (like it is/was for the fiero). A place to discuss paint jobs, body fitment, finishing, modification, diy, etc... would be excellent.

On a side note, I'm working on developing a few parts and accessories for the Solstice, I need to know if it is alright to start a thread about them and continue to disscuss them with the rest of the board. I have put a short list of them in my signature so that people can express their interest to me, if any of this is a problem just ask and I'll remove it. I figure that input from forums such as yours will help a great deal in development phases so that I can give the customers what they want. Please let me know, Thanks.

Been lurking for a while - Suggestion for another forum.

These cars are nimble little creatures from what I've been reading. I currently have an RX8 and autocross it nationally. I went to the dealer a couple weeks ago, and asked them to start a list for the GXP. I'm really looking forward to this coming fall/winter and getting the GXP with me bing 1st of course.

To the point, I believe there will be quite a few people that will like to find the limits of the car, or want to know where they can do so, legally and safely.

Would it be possible to support those people with a Motorsports forum where those interested in tracking (HPDE/Road course) or auto-xing their cars can discuss setups, national/local competitons and events and various other things that members can use their cars for in a central location?

Just a thought.

You've got your Tech Forums way off, I suggest:

Engine Technical Discussion
  • 2.4 Liter Ecotec
  • 2.0 Liter Ecotec GXP/Redline

Technical Forums:
  • Advanced Tech, Major Rebuild Info, Stroker, Etc..
  • Forced Induction Tech,
  • Motor Swap Tech
  • N20 Tech
  • Drive Train Tech, Clutch, Transmission, Axle Shaft, Rear Differential, etc.
  • Computer Diagnostics & Programming

Care and Maintenance
  • Convertible Top
  • Appearance Modifications (Paint, body kits, spoilers)
  • Wheels/Tires
  • Car Audio
  • Show/Shine

You're also forgetting:
Motor Sports
  • Autocross
  • Drag Racing
  • "Track" Kill Stories

You Need:
Market Place
  • Supporting Vender Group Purchases and Sales
  • Parts and Cars For Sale/Wanted

General Discussion is too general, you need.

Do you want the site to be a trouble shooting guide for whiny owners or do you want this to be an enthusiastís forum?

2nded. This looks like a good breakdown of the forums that would make sense to enthustasts looking to share technical details and pass information between each.

In Technical, I would also add 'Suspension/Brakes' to the above list... or combine Wheels/Tires to 'Suspension/Brakes/Wheels/Tires' and move it out of 'Care Maintenance'?. Just suggestions.

A nice breakdown Bradyb, but I do not see it happening. Troy prefers to use fewer, more broad based forums than breaking it down a lot to help promote a feeling of community. Although I am sure we will have more sections in time, I am not sure the sections will be broken down into so many sub categories.

Can you at least add a motorsports forum?
