3 Months Out - Hello Are You Going To Join Us?

Hi everyone, it's hard to believe we are three months out from NASSAM 2019!

The organizing committee would like to somewhat close the gap between the 38 people listed below, sans usernames, who've booked rooms at the Radisson but have not yet registered on the website. If you know you aren't attending, please be kind and release your room for a fellow Kappa kid.

If you're lagging behind, it's time to step on the throttle! Don't forget to order your $20 tee shirt, these items will be very collectible in a few years! Plus, you know you need one. Proceeds go to a good cause, so please peruse the website: 2019 NASSAM: North American Solstice & Sky Meet

B: Pat, Alex, Perri, Tim, David, Carl, Jay, Jesse

C: Michael, Dorice, John

June will be busting out in Kappas! Thanks as always and forever for your continued support!

We decided yesterday we would not be attending, so will cancel the the room tonight. Just too far and not much fun without a car to drive, maybe next year.

solli4me back on Feb 23 I posted on the official thread asking several questions about the event and have never seen any type of reply to the questions. Please take a look at that post. I said that I need that information to decide about going to the event. I just checked the web site and did not find any of the information I asked about. I am not on face book but would hope all this information would be on the web site.

It too far for us. Spending a week to get there just does not fit our work schedule or the wife's mechanical knees.

Hey Rob, I totally get it, I've missed the west coast events for similar reasons. I'm in charge of the tee shirt division, (Diablo designed the logo) so perhaps I can take orders for peeps who can't make it.

solli4me thanks for the information. A couple questions not answered meet and greet and banquet cash bar or free beer and wine for an hour or what? Printed directions for runs for folks with out a Garmin GPS? Q+A about car care during the day or what? Nice list of sponsors on the web site will they all be at the event? The car show has some nice classes but what does Non-ELA Awards mean? Thanks for any more information you can give me.

Where is this happening: Corning, NY (The gorgeous Finger Lakes Wine Country in Upstate NY)

When is the fun: June 11th to 15th, 2019

What is the website: 2019 NASSAM: North American Solstice & Sky Meet

Where do I register: 2019 NASSAM: Registration

How much is registration: $75

What does registration include: Banquet, Meet & Greet, Charity Support, and other event costs such as name badge/lanyards, event signs & posters, meeting space, event insurance, etc.

What is the main hotel: Radisson Corning at 125 Denison Pkwy E in Corning, NY
The Radisson is full, there are two other hotels with discounted rates coming online this week. Please keep an eye out for names and rates.

For Comments, Questions or if you’d like to be a Sponsor, Vendor or Volunteer, please email the committee at [email protected]

Run information is available on the main site. Actual directions will be coming shortly.

Winery info: When visiting the area wineries, please use alternate transportation or designated driver's if you plan on drinking.
Do not drink and drive!!!

What is the cost for T-shirts: $20 and available while registering for the event, with a very limited numbers of extra T-shirts will be sold during the event!

What can I expect during the week:
- Meet and Greet (Cash bar)
- Goodie Bag
- Vendor Area where you can make an appointment to install your favorite Kappa mods
- Car Show & Light Show
- Silent Auction or Raffle – including posters or signs from the event! Remember all proceeds go to charity!
- Group driving events such as cruises to destinations (landmarks, shopping, wineries/breweries, restaurants) as well as spirited cruises along the twisty roads our cars love!
- On-Site Car Wash Facilities
- Final Evening Banquet
- Watkins Glen track time (details to come VERY shortly)
- And a lot of fun hanging out with other owners!

Other Common Questions (updated as they are asked):
Q: Do I have to come for the entire week?
A: No. You can come for as many days as you’d like, but please help us by registering! You’ll get a goodie bag, badge, and be required to sign any waivers necessary if you’d like to participate in group events.

Q: I registered, but I didn’t receive a confirmation. Am I really registered?
A: The PayPal receipt email is currently the confirmation that you have paid and are registered. Please email [email protected] if you did not receive your PayPal email to confirm payment was received.

Q: What is a “Run”?
A: A group of cars that drive a specific route through scenic or twisty roads. A cruise if you will. Some runs we have leaders called Road Captains, and a person designated at the back of the pack called a Sweep. The number in the group is limited for safety reasons. We also use 2-way radios to communicate turns and hazards. It is highly recommended you bring 2-way radios so you will know of any road hazards, issues, or up coming turns during the run. There will be a staging area where the group will line up and gather for a safety talk prior to the run. Self guided run sheets will also be available for other times.

Q: Will I need a Garmin or other GPS device?
A: It is not required, but it’s nice to have one just in case roads are closed at the last minute, or if you’d like to explore the area on your own.

Q: Do I have to sign up for an event?
A: No, but if you’d like to be part of a group event such as a tour or run, please do as space is limited and sometimes, tours or restaurants require payment in advance or number in the group in advance.
