Garage
How about Louisville, KY. Plenty of hotels, the Bourbon trail, Churchill Downs and other racing things, a run to the Corvette museum with nearby road course and drag strip, Slugger museum and great country roads. Could even make a day to Indianapolis to the track and museum.

I didn't mean have the nationals every five years, I meant having the nationals in the same place every 5th year. By having it in one location every fifth year it would give the nationals some continuity, and by choosing a central location of the country that may help to draw the most participants. The rest of the time do what's being done now, holding it in different parts of the country. I choose the 5 year mark so that it could coincide w/the Solstice anniversary VIN date of 06 (not the nationals anniversary dates of 2015, 2020, etc.)

Now back to the 2017 NASSM discussion.

My thoughts were to kind of start over with locations that were similar to the first ones. But maybe in an area close but not exactly the same? Like 2016 is in the Ozarks (similar to 1st Kansas City) then the 2017 should be further east (similar 2nd Nashville), then back west like Utah/Canyonlands (similar 3rd was Las Vegas)...on and on. Still lets all areas of the country have their turn at showing off the great backroad assets this country has!
At 2015 NASSM someone mention my area in northern Idaho. about 300 miles further east than this years and we have the Hells Canyon with Jetboat rides 100 miles upriver. And wonderful backroads with minimal traffic. Our problem as other areas is wrangling up enough help to assist in pulling off a Nationals. The largest meet we've hosted has been close to 40 cars. And that one brought in the most cars from Canada from any one location.
As we get closer to retiring and then being able to do longer cross-country trips, we'd like to see the NASSAM concept continue into the years ahead. It's a great way to explore the riches of the U.S.

I've always thought it would be fun to plan one ever since I attended my first one, but I would definitely need help.

He is from Ohio. If we are involved it would need to be closer to Colorado.

I think all the Ohio guys are either still burnt out from the Canton experience, or no longer on this board.
