What about Western Canada or a city close to the border were it could be a joint effort. Just a thought.
I for one appreciate all the hard work folks have put in to this. Thanks

Have thought about this many times. Wish it could be easy.
We have a plant in Collingwood and were going to send a group of operators there for some training. One of them was arrested for DUI 20 years ago and, even though the charges were dropped, was not allowed to enter Canada.

Yep. That is what will happen. Also, bringing fire arms across the border does not go over well. Collingwood is beautiful. We did two SSOOO runs to there. I was in the music / concert business for thirty years. The tales of woe for border crossings going both ways I could tell you.😎

My sister is Canadian. Kelowna BC. Beautiful place

Pick a place and they will come!

The boarder crossing issues work both ways. Not a show stopper

That is a good idea! They are not as busy on the US side so it might work. If you went forward with it I could help you with the hotel negotiations. The Sheraton on the US side is owned by the same people who own the Sheraton on the CDN side where we have done events. I have contacts there.

We just got back from a traveling pseudo-Regionals meet up in the Canadian Rockies. There were 11-12 cars but, only a hand full of American cars. Mainly our Canadian friends showing off their wonderful scenery over 4-5 days. Quite fun and scenic.
Wasn't difficult crossing the border either way, as long as you have a PassCard or Passport and no weapons!
We went up last year for a few days also. Similar concept and seemed to work.
As for a Traveling Nationals (NASSAM) that would be quite the logistics nightmare.
But it does afford the experience of seeing more than one region over the week.
My wife & I have thought about doing a Nationals in our region. We did a smaller (38 cars) Regionals meet back in 2012.
Just having enough hotel rooms in one given hotel in our region.
But, we have a few sites few folks in America have seen or even know about. And lots of fun, twisty uncrowded back roads to play on.
Just getting people this far west again!

I just got back from a Mexico road trip last night and did several hundred miles through Arizona. Beautiful roads and scenery! Those guys need to get on the ball and host a rally there!

I would love to see Canada (particularly the Ontario group), northern Georgia, or the west coast (PCH, San Luis Obispo, north of San Francisco, or Tahoe) do one.

That one doesn't count since I didn't have a Solstice yet! Besides, by 2019 it'll be six years... it's time!

If I was volunteering I would do it in New Mexico. But I'm flying solo down here pretty much since I don't know a single forum member in this state. Besides, NM is too close to Colorado. Maybe in a few years.....

Personal opinion here. I think NASSAM 2018 has to be the most successful one to date. I see John taking it again in 2019, but after that unless some major changes are made, I do not see it continuing. I hate to say it, but have seen clubs not moving forward. Changing with the times is needed.

I just returned from the FJ Cruiser National. Growing by leaps and bounds, rejecting large sponsors, not enough room, 450 trucks this year, with over 700 on the waiting list. Working with the wounded Warrior Program.

I think the individual charities are great, but are a problem for getting big time sponsors to commit. This group needs to find a major charity and tie its wagon to it. That will open doors never even thought of.

This group has done tremendous work over the years, but basically it just goes by the wayside as it moves to another area, to jump thru hoops. Become partners with a city/town/area and have the backing year around from that city. Starting over every single year, takes time and a lot of work.

I hope I am wrong, but we are well past the National and still do not have a taker for 2019 other than John and Glen. I have no problem if that became the permanent site. But the bar hopping around the country is not going to fly much longer I am afraid. You can look at the 2018 National, Rob was the only one interested in doing it.
