Too bad you are just a few miles further away right now. Your wife could probably use the vacation with you away though.

I would ask if you have an idea when you come back, but I remember the poster from when I enlisted about loose lips sinking ships. Or was it all of those AFN commercials?

I can only say that we arrived in Jan of this year, which is public knowledge ... so you can guestimate my return date from that time frame. I will just be glad once this constitutional/election stuff is over (in Iraq).

I will only say that I am confident that I will be home in time to see the 2007 Sky, or Sol roll out!

2007 Aggressive GXP (Manual) loaded minus On* and Smoker's Pkg (Born 11/10/2006 and picked up on 11/22/2006) SOLD 10/17/2008

What exactly is Pontiac/GM celebrating?

This is ridiculous.

Did they decide to do this back in the Spring before all the delays in producing this vehicle? Or is it some kind of face saving exercise to make the Execs feel good by surrounding themselves with happy Solstice owners.

Instead of inviting people who have their cars, how about doing anything to hold onto the customers with orders who have seen delay after delay. Lived with six months of no information whatever.

For me ths is the last straw, talk about arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. GM/Pontiac, I am not waiting until next year so your can put my order aside again in favour of shipping another car to Florida.

I give up you win you can keep your car.

Ordered April 30th
Preferenced Sept 12
Un-preferenced, not to be built this year Sept 20
Preferenced Oct. 5, No TPW
Cancelled Nov. 5
5 of 9 First Allocation
Cool Two-Tone AC ABS LSD PWR

Oct. 1 bought Steel Blue 2001 330Ci

The weather should be good. We don't really get bad weather until Jan or Feb. Never been to concours.

The Wife and I are in. We took delivery of our Solstice on Friday 10/14 - but will fly to Savanah from DFW via AirTrans. Looking forward to meeting those that can make it. Sounds like a very special event with only the first 100 to register allowed to attend.

Looks like only 5 indicated they were going on this thread. Since some got the e-mails and some didn't I'm not sure what the qualifier was. Was it 1st 1k? Perhaps the travel agency Solstice used would know the current count. I have to believe this is going to be better than Detroit was and that one was really nice. Notice the agenda says there will be an 'event collectable' given at the champagne reception.

My understanding is that eMails went to the 1000 First 1000 Exclusive Retail Order Solstices "buyers". Basically the only group GM can contact.

Dealerships received a copy of the message last week (Thursday Night?), and where told that they could share it with any Solstice owner/buyer.

Perhaps they didn't want you to go?

Or perhaps they didn't want to listen to a bunch of complaints and only invited those that have their cars.

The links are above, or your dealership can supply you with a copy of the invite.

True, but I have never complained, since from the beginning I expected my car sometime in October, and it turned out that way for me, not only that, as you know my car is in the dealership showroom until the end of the month, so other folks that either have not seen it, or are interested in the car, can actually see it in person, it also gives the dealer the foot traffic GM is looking to get out of this car.
