You all still allowing people to come by and watch? I've got an exchange I need to make with Chemist, and I might as well come by and check things out.

I am _certain_ that onlookers are more than welcome. You might want to bring a five-spot to help defray beverage costs.

I have a question! How big is Carl's place? I mean how is Carl's place going to accommodate all of these cars? Is this some ones big house with a big front driveway??? Or is this an automotive shop? Will there be any food or drinks provided? Do we bring our own food and drinks? Should we bring money for refreshments? Did I miss the thread on this part? I see allot about installs but not much else about Carl's place? Is this some ones house or place of business?

Lets say the phrase "Eveything in Texas is Bigger" might have started with Carl's place. We are meeting at his castle, hmm...I mean house. And other than having to bring in portable toilets, we could hold the Nationals there. Seriously, he has a 200+ acre spread and four garages.

As far as food, I think the general consensus is bring something you like and bring enough to share. Kinda community "pot luck" I think the only "organized" meal is Saturday night.

Front yard

Back yard

Silver_Ghost,

Between the main house, the carriage house, barn & shed - we have a total of 10 car positions/bays to work on cars. I have all the tools we need plus other guys are bringing tools and supplies.

Wife and I will be providing continental breakfast each morning plus refreshments/snacks (beer, water, soft drinks) during the meet.

On Saturday night we plan to take up a 'pot' and bring in BBQ for all who want to participate.

Otherwise, full meals will be at the option of the attendees. We have great cafes in Muenster & Lindsay plus a Sonic & Subway.

Activities will be:

* Catch & release fishing
* Long drive contest
* Horseshoes
* Wii bowling & golf
* All the pasture walking/touring you want
* A 9am Saturday morning (plus cars will be doing this route all weekend as they wish) Red River Ride, about 50 miles.
* An optional stop on the ride route at the Weinhoff Winery for a tasting.
* All the mod watching you care to do plus any DIY mods you want to do

Eagles Canyon Raceway is about 30 miles away and for $150 you can put your car on the track all day Saturday.

North Star Dragway is about 40 miles away and the track is open Friday 6pm - 10pm & for $10 entry + $5 tech you can put your car through 1/4 mile runs.

We are hoping there is enough for everyone to be entertained!

UPDATE DUE TO TMS RACE TRAFFIC

DIRECTIONS TO THE MOD MEET

As a reminder on directions to the house:

GET OFF I-35W JUST NORTH OF FORT WORTH AT THE HWY 287 EXIT TO DECATUR. AT DECATUR FIND HWY 51 NORTH. GO NORTH TO THE TOWN OF ERA. GO LEFT (WEST) AT ERA ON FM 922.

I-35W - Go North from Fort Worth - past Denton - past Sanger - to Valley View (FM 922)

Go West on FM 922 - past Era - to a 'T' intersection (FM 373)

Go North on FM 373 about 3 miles to the Austin stone, gated entry (it'll be open)

If you get lost - my cell is (817) 229-4722

From Denton you are about 40 minutes from the house.

Warning - on FM 922 there are two 'bumps' caused by road improvements (yeah right) that you need to watch for and slow down for.

Wow! Nice fortress, I mean home. I sure hope that long driveway is paved. If not, I will be parking and walking. My car is low and I don't like driving on gravel.

It's paved. What you will see is granite chip rock that is loose and on top of the asphalt. The drive to the house is about 1/3 mile.

The fairway got mowed today. It's a downhill 275 yards to the lake! JR put one in the middle of the lake last year, I figure 335 yds. I'll have the Bushnell Rangefinder out this year and verify the distance.

Cool! I am going to swing by on Saturday, since that'll be the easiest for me to get up there. Doubt I could make it on Friday after work and all.

What's a good time to swing by on Sat?
