RK Sport bumper and turning signals ?

... so I picked up a RK Sport bumper ( see this thread: https://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/...r-sale-157987/ )

We spent some time today checking fitment of this bumper onto a GXP...

It seems that the intercooler "foam" has to be removed.
There are a couple of black tabs attached to the "under skirt" that will have to be cut/removed too.

But, looking at the bumper, I notice that there are no obvious front turning signals.

What have others done with this issue ?

check out Brian Williams on FB. He installed LED turn lights behind the center grilles. looks great.

There are many options.
1. You can reuse your factory fog/turn signal with the RK Sport bumper, which is the way it was designed. There’s a thread somewhere that has the RK Sport directions. Basically there are three or four mounting locations for the stock light to sit behind the outer vents and be used.
2. The lower DRLs on a Ford Edge Sport are nearly identical to the shape and size (very little modification to do) to fit them in the outer vents. Buy an aftermarket set that offers switchback. Reroute your DRLs using TomatoSoup’s instructions. Hook up the turn signal wire to the new light. Viola.
3. Be ridiculous like me and retrofit projectors into your headlights. Use a switch back halo on the projector shroud and use a strip to follow the contour of the side of the headlight bezel. Then get some sequential 18” strips and run the lower and outside portion of the inner vents. Then open and replace the incandescent parking light with a 3” or 6” led switchback and connect it to the turn signal. Then because I like incognito, wire all that through the fog light wires and turn signal wires, so I didn’t add any switches on the interior of the car, just a Christmas tree out front if I decide to hit fog switch, if not, only the turn signals light up if I use them.

I can post pics if you like.

Please do!

I'm getting ready to do the lights on the GXP. I was looking for a clean way to integrate the turn signal into the headlight.

Good lord, some days I love my job....and too many times I hate it. Either way, better late than never. Hope these pics help. Contact me if you have any questions, I'm no expert, but I did a ton of research on the RK Sport bumper and lighting because when I got my solstice, the bumper swap was done, but they didn't swap the turn signal/fog lights, so I was driving around with no turn signals. That condition no longer exists. Bwaaahaahahahahahaha

I've also included a pic of the front of the car that helped me decide what to do when I did my projector retrofit conversion. The 12" strips the run along the edge of the bezel are switchback as well as the halos.

I'm posting these pics for now, but I am gonna grab my phone and find the other pics and video I took so I can upload them too.

OK, here's some more. Also a link to a short video. I was messing with the lights and unplugging/plugging them in trying to get good pics, so pay no attention to some of the lights not working. If you really want to see them all working I can take a video if it will help you.

Here's a video with the hazards on.

making progress with the new bumper...

The painting is completed, and getting ready for the clear-bra install...

As mentioned, it appears that the OEM fog/turning component can be reused as-is.
