Hood / Bumper Alignment

Finally got a better look at the "overbite" of the hood on my one week old vert. The forums mentioning alignment seem to favor leaving the hood alone unless necessary. The rear seam of hood doesnt vary from left to right, so hoping the bumper cover is the culprit. Any lessons learned on adjusting it welcomed.

If it fits the windshield, the doors and the fenders then work on the front bumper cover. Read the alignment manual. It's mentioned here somewhere. I keep a paper copy handy

The cover has many adjustment point that should fix that issue

had the same problem with mine when I bought it. every problem is different, but I fixed mine by putting plastic fender washers under the bumper cover at each of the screws on the top of the bumper which lifted it enough to close the hood/bumper gap. It then can move forward or backward to adjust the overbite. There are also two vertical jack screws with rubber bumpers on them inboard of the headlamps at the front edge of the hood which can help with the evening up the gap.

Good luck! There's a lot of trial and error involved.

Am trying all the adjustments from the pdf file and elsewhere. Hood is perfectly aligned on all sides. Appears that bumper was pushed inward just enough to have the hood protrude over the bumper cover.
