One of my objectives this winter is to finish fabricating sheet metal "covers" to dress up the engine bay and hide all the mechanicals that distract from the beauty of the motor. I started this with the battery cover that covers the area above the battery. Since the battery is right next to the fender vent, cooling is not an issue. Next I am going to do the left side, to cover the area under the overflow bottle.

I bought this film to cover the metal as an experiment. Will see how it turns out.

@rob the elder

While I know this thread has been "viewed" over 400,000 times, explain this one which I stumbled over today while researching auto transmission availability.

I find it hard to believe some of this stuff that pops up.

Found time to work on the left side fender cover. In order to fit it will be in two parts (at least) I got the outer cover done and installed. Its an interesting process. I make a template out of foam board and then use that to fab it in aluminum sheet. Once I have it fitting the way I like I covered it with carbon fiber plastic sheet.

My wife came out to call me for dinner and asked "why are you doing that?" Sigh.

After the success of printing the terminal covers in carbon fiber poly I installed one on Punisher. It goes with the theme well.

I have a few of these printed in black and red nylon as well as blue and black TPU. I will make them available to those in need for the cost of materials and shipping.

If you need one let me know.

We had our annual Christmas party for RMSSC on Saturday. I set up the garage for the event and plugged in PunisheR so all the pretty lights would flash.

As some know I have a 12V drop cord that I use for this purpose and to do diagnostics on the car when necessary. I had recently installed a 5 amp power supply and anticipated it would work fine. I was using a 3 amp but with the latest updates to the lighting it was going into protection mode frequently thus the upgrade. I plugged the car in and selected ground power, checked the lights and went about my tasks. I glanced at the car a few minutes later and it was dark. Seems that 5 amps is no longer enough. The power supply was going into cool down mode about every ten minutes.

I ordered a 30 amp replacement LOL.

Soon all will be well again. Glad I have the generator for car shows!

Found a new Punisher logo item and could not resist. Its a bolt on "racing" nylon tow strap. I mounted it to the existing rear tow hook just because I could. And it looks cool. :-) Another little mod to improve my "racing while standing still" features.
