Solstice/Sky Side Wind Blocker (moved from the Sky forum)

Hello everyone,

I am now making a production run of side window air deflectors
for the Sky/Solstice. I already make these for the MR2 spyder which has
the same turbulence issue due to the post style mirror. Here is a link
for reference.

Moving this post from the Sky forum allows me to lower the price to $22 shipped. Payment can be made to me through paypal at [email protected], you can also PM me if you want to send a check.

Here are a few pics of what they look like.

These greatly reduce the turbulence and buffeting and make the car
enjoyable to drive on the highway. I made a set for a coworker's
solstice and he could not be happier. Let me know what you think.

Thanks.

does the device stay in the location
with windows up & down ?

or is this only a 'windows down' device, to be removed
when windows are up ?

Sirwm,

This item stays in with the windows up or down.

I cuts about 80% of the wind and eliminates the buffeting and ear hole smacking you get.

Mongospyder, is there any room for customization such as etching or custom shape? Obviously this would increase the cost. I'm most interested in the custom shape. Maybe make the back part curved instead of a straight line. Not sure how this would effect performance though.

Edit: I'm also curious if you could do colored plexi such as a smoke color

Hi everyone! Although I've been reading this forum for years, I just joined. I'm "KentuckySky" on the Sky forum.

Just ordered my air deflectors. Looking forward to getting them!

Hello Sirmeili,

I will be honest with you, I buy the laser cut acrylic and bend it myself. To have a special cut or color is very expensive due to the cost of setting up the laser bed and getting another color acrylic since it comes in 4X8 or 4X4 pieces to make two small pieces.

Thanks for the feedback MongoSpyder. I will still end up buying some, but wanted to check first. Never hurts to ask. I wonder if I could tent them myself (just looking to have it match the car is all. My windows are already tinted 15%). The curve was something I was curious about since I thought it might look a bit sleeker. For $22 shipped though, I'm not complaining at all! You'll have my order this week or next.
