    Interesting. Let me take a closer look tonight. The top directly above the tab/screw is torn on both sides, so it's had a history of hanging up somewhere, but the "tab" that is there on mine is much more rubbery than hard plastic. Maybe it's already been replaced with something once before - I'm the third owner of this car now.

    Yes
    if you have screws but no tabs, its because they broke off and were lost. The tops without tabs also don't have screws. They are not needed without the tabs.
