Thanks Thomas!! I am going to see if I can find the instructions on line and try it myself. I hate to spend any more $$$. Thank you for sharing with me this info. I have really met some wonderful folks here on the forum and made some great friends as a result of owning TWO sols...
The adjustments really do sound harder than they actually are. Did you get a copy of the install instructions with them? The guys at DDM are great and will definitely get it done right. There are really only two points of alignment. The bolts on the door itself for in/out and the stop screw for the doors rest and close. If they do quote higher than you want plus the trip cost. Don't tell yourself you can't do it. The cutting needed is not that bad either. Just make sure you have the instructions. They are available on line and in install posts here as well. One thing I did that most others don't is instead of using a bunch of painters tape to hold the door in place. I put the top down and wrapped the cars door/cabin area (over and under) in industrial strength seran wrap to hold them in place. Good luck. I look forward to seeing the finished product on your ride.
Alan, I'm so sorry for the late reply. The family and I just returned today from a week at the in-laws in Oklahoma. $800.00 is what I payed for mine brand new off a "make offer" E-bay listing. It did take me almost 2 years of looking to run across that offer acceptance. 12-1400 is as you know the normal listed price but in my case I would say it is still a tad high for used even if in like new condition. As far as install goes it is not too difficult for the average wrench turner. As far as functionality goes. I like mine but the wife does not (which works for me cause she doesn't want to drive it much any more haha). Most of the time I don't even raise them. I just slip out the 18" gap in the opened and lowered position. Once adjusted right they are easy to use but greasing and the once in a blue moon adjustments are needed.
Again, I apologize for the late response but I'm back now and happy to help.
