I'm using a '06 2.4 engine and 5spd in my project.

The stock solstice trans is a pretty long piece all the way back to shifter assembly.

I'm already moving the seating position back, and estimated location will probly work... but want some options if I'm wrong.

Is this transmission used in another vehicle, but with either a shorter tail housing and/or an alternate shifter assembly / location?

Or is there an aftermarket shifter kit that will bolt on to the stock trans to accomplish the same thing?

The five-speed manual transmission is the same as in the Hummer H3, GMC Canyon, and Chevrolet Colorado

just an update for anyone else looking at a simular modification....
- there are some differences in the tail housings between the Colorado / H2 versions compared to the Izuzu and Solstice versions.

apparently the Colorado version is 4 bolts to mount shifter in forward position, while the Izuzu/Solstice is a 6 bolt....

I found a vendor making a custom application, utilizing as many Hurst pieces as he can for a short throw conversion for the 4-bolt Colorado version....

I'm working w/ them to come up with a version to cover the 6-bolt version.
- will keep y'all posted.

they are also working on a conversion for stock Solstice/Sky users as well.
