Hey, all!!

6 months was well worth the wait. I got the call today at 2:14pm. My Sol is in Anniston!! After work I stopped at home on the way to clean up a bit, get my camera and paperwork. When I arrived, she was up on the rack having the catback and splashguards installed:

Once it was lowered, however, I found they had taken the liberty of installing the FRONT BRACKET!! :willy:

Alabama is not a two plate state. I had that sucker removed!!!
The prep guy, Josh, then took it for a shakedown run also to listen for any rattles per his installation. When he returned, I got my time behind the wheel.
Here's myself in the driver's seat with my salesman, Greg, along. He's telling the camera(Marty, the Sales Mgr. took the pic) "First one!!!"

Mine will be the first Solstice sold at Ron Newton Pontiac. The other two in their 1st allocation are 3 to 4 weeks behind mine.
Good run, I'm sorry to say I did stall it twice!! We took it down to tank up. It was on the dealership so I put 93 in. :) While I filled up, I got my first compliment. A guy in a Mustang convertible liked my soon-to-be ride and asked how much it was. He smiled when I said 25K.
We rolled back to the dealership and put the top up. Easy as everyone has said.

I can't complete the financing till Monday morning, so Marty will display the car out front. Itll be there All day Saturday, so anyone in range of Anniston, AL come on by to Ron Newton Pontiac, Caddy, GMC to see #1888.

I llok forward to the days ahead. :)

BTW: what's the record on miles at delivery? Try 17 miles!!!!

WOW!! Absolutely beautiful!!

Make sure you let us know how the cat-back exhaust is working for you. I guess you wouldn't know much about how it felt before it, since it was put on first thing.

Congratulations!!

As far as the cat-back, not obnoxious at all!!! I didn't get above 45 but I hardly heard it as much as felt it. A low rumble, reminding me of the 72 Olds Cutlass I used to have!!! I'll get a sound clip posted next week. Marty, the Sales Mgr, was smiling went Josh took his drive, said the new exhaust made it sound like a bad boy!!

Yeah, I know, dori. I knew someone would eventually comment on me having a blck Sol but wanting to call it a name invoking a white Sol, but I've named her for one of my favorite songs, What's on Your Mind?(Pure Energy) by Information Society. Pure Energy seems like a good name for a Solstice, even a black one! :)

I'm issueing a correction on that view. It isn't a low rumble like a described. It's hard for me to describe. It's lhas a slightly lower pitch than what I've heard of the factory setup and a little louder but not annoying or irritating. I'm going off of the clips I've heard of the factory setup. I had mine installed when the car arrived. I'll get a sound clip posted within the week. Hope this helps.
