interesting...

This is a 2002 video, but the car only came out in the 2009 model year.
I wonder why so long ?

The vert was out at the end of 05 in the 2006 model year...

As I recall...

Bob Lutz held a design contest for a new roadster. Fritz designed a coupe, but the design won and was adapted. They built a working vehicle for reveal at the NAIAS, but unbeknownst to management a foam coupe was also made. It looked so good, they said what the hell, but it was never actually intended to be made...

Notice how much more the windshield curves and stretches out. The Solstice book also talks about how hard they worked on eliminating the tire to fender gap. When I read that I was thinking it was talking about production Kappa's because I was thinking; Uh no, the tire gap is huge. But after seeing the vid now I'm thinking it was the concepts being discussed. Very glad GM got my memo to lose the exposed B pillar.

OK, edited from 14 to 12 years. I have to admit I was thinking of the 15 year anniversary date when I posted this.

I had the picture of this car on my fridge for seven years. Had to wait through the convertibles, but it was worth it!

It is a week after you posted this Jeff, and I have still not gotten the Freshie out yet. I could, but I am waiting for a few more potholes to be fixed. I literally can't get out of my neighborhood without going over potholes!

Sorry to hear about the pothole problem. Hope they get them patched soon, so you can enjoy that beauty! I'll be coming up in about 2 weeks, maybe the cruises will be starting up. Cruisin Times web site isn't working for me.
