I was looking around and I think I finally found the fix to my "grind" noise/problem. I was reading this thread (http://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/f12/recall-drive-axle-seal-leak-replace-seal-2-1-08-a-42445/) and it states in there that "Dealers are to service all vehicles subject to this recall at no charge to customers, regardless of mileage, age of vehicle, or ownership, from this time forward.". Is that still legitimate? Do you know if a dealership would fix the seal problem even though the recall has been over for a while?

Thanks

Recalls are forever, or until they are done to a qualifying automobile, whichever happens first.

Recalls are never "over".

A GM dealer can input your VIN and lookup the recall status on your car to find out whether it was ever done.

Good Luck!

Dave nailed it (once again.) In fact our test drive before we bought the Solstice was delayed several days because it was in for that exact recall last year about this time.
