I just wanted to post a list I have decided to start compiling of the 2009 Pontiac Solstice Street Editions.

To give you some background on this post: Pontiac had decided that for the model year 2009, Brazen would get a special model known as the 2MK67 Street Edition, which would only have a production run of 500.
The special features included:
-Brazen Color with Darkside Top
-Black Heritage Stripe (Exclusive)
-Black Bezel Top Headlamps (Exclusive)
-Black Grilles
-18" Polished Aluminum Split Spoke Wheels (Exclusive)
-Performance Z0K Inspired Suspension (Exclusive)
-Ebony Leather Trim with Orange Accent Stitching on Seats, Steering Wheel and Shifter Boot (Exclusive)
-Unique Vin Number
I think I may be missing a detail or two.

I had started this list back in July 2010 when I became curious what number my Street Edition was of the 500 made, during my search I had learned that in fact Pontiac had possibly only produced about 138 in reality of the planned 500 and so since there was no known production number list, I had decided to compile a list of Vin Numbers I have gathered from various online car listings, owners, etc to determine a rough estimate of what number my car may be, and as you can imagine this is a very slow process as not many SEs are listed (typically 1-2 new listings per month) as compared to the other editions (NA/GXP/Coupe) which anywhere from 25-100+ new listings go up per month.

I had originally started my list in a word document sometime in early July, and after a few weeks and many long restless hours I had compiled a list of about 50 or so vin numbers by August which included build dates ranging from July 2008 to July 2009. However, Tragedy soon fell upon my efforts when one day I was horrified to discover/realize I had accidentally deleted my list!:brentil:

:cryin:

After this incident, I had gave up completely in total frustration... that was until yesterday when I decided to give it another shot.

However, this time I will keep a backup list posted here for just in case I repeat the same tragedy.

If you know of any Street Edition Owners I could contact and/or would like to help, please feel free to contact me and provide any Vin Numbers that you find. Thanks!

An Interesting Side Note: While compiling my previous lost list and performing services & searches on my very own SE is I discovered that the unique part of our vin number. The part exclusive to the SE are the 5th to 8th digits of the vin (either Z35B for an Automatic or K35B for a Manual) and they do read and register as a Street Edition with Vin Information/History Sites or Services such as Carfax, Autocheck, Auto Service/Repair Shops, Auto Insurance Companies (unfortunately, the SE is more expensive to insure with a few insurance companies), and so on.

I am pretty sure there was a computer entry/sales log somewhere because we know for a fact that Pontiac/GM did not produce the Street Edition regularly part of normal production, and instead "per order" from individual buyers and car dealers, which explains why the planned 500 were not premade, and the GM order information which lets us know there were approximately 126 orders. But when Pontiac Closed Its Doors and shut their computers off for the last time, I am sure those logs and customer information bit the dust also.

Good luck with your SE registry. I keep the coupe registry and I wish we had 25 to 100 additions a month. I have to do a new post about every other month because we can only edit our posts for 30 days. I know we have 1 SE in the MKC club, so next time I see it I'll grab the serial number for you. The SE is unique with many special features. The SE and GXP coupes both have the dark headlights. Many have purchased the SE wheels since they are real nice. SE wheels were easy to come by right after Pontiacs demise. If Pontiacs hadn't gone away there would have been many more coupes and SEs.

Thanks Red: I think I have all the information I need to follow up on anything I get. Just wish I had more getting information to me. Most the coupes I get are for sale cars so I really don't know where they actually end up. There are a lot of them out there that owners are just sitting on and don't care about the forum or registry. I appreciate everyone that sends me information.

Your right Chop: We have a MKC member that has a Brazen NA coupe that I think would look great with SE wheels and stripes plus black headlights (if he can find them). Kind of thecar that could have been idea like you suggested.

Wow: I didn't notice that post was so old! Hopefully he followed up after 2010!

you can share the list here. The forum takes attachments... :) 👀

I have fullVIN list of most rare Kappas / Special Editions. Biggest problem is how to confirm a list is complete and correct, because GM often communicated the wrong total numbers. Therefore I started collecting photos of all rare Kappas as well.
Of the appr. 140 Street Edition that I have listed I have photo proof of as little as 40 cars. So all help to get more will be very appreciated. Just PM me if you like to exchange data & share notes.

@RedOne07 Coming over from the FB group because someone taught me what a SE is and I have one. I put a stripe on it and was asked why I didn’t put the factory back on it. I had no idea! I looked for 10 minutes how to pm someone on the forum and couldn’t find a way so I’m just tagging you. I can send you VIN info and pics if you’re interested. Mine as in a front end wreck when I bought it so the original grills were replaced.

I didn't notice if it had been mentioned in the thread, but the Street Edition springs are GXP rate springs but a different length, which on an NA car like my 06 lowers it about an inch but gives it GXP spring rates. I've got the Street Edition springs on my 06.

I don't think the Street Edition springs are still available from GM, but the specs in Flash's Owner's thread could be useful for someone wanting to recreate them:
