Resort info in post one of the thread, folks start arriving on Thursday, Big run all day Saturday, group eats on Sat nite, smaller run(s) on Friday, free day to do a run, relax, do the ducks, whatever suits ya. Seems like our far east contingent was going to do House on the Rock on Friday?
Firepit every night the weather cooperates, haven't been rained out yet!
I also looked at it and not near the feeling I get with the Solstice. Glad to know the Sky still gives you that permagrin...I was a bit worried !
Beth and I had a Subie BRZ on order, too. After sitting in a demo unit, we called the dealer and let our order/allocation go. It is a really nice car, but not nice enough to justify the price tag. Now if it had generated the "I gotta have it" feelings that the Solstice did, it might have been a different story, but it didn't strike that chord with us.
So, . . . we(I) shall continue to wait on Project 818.
Pulling into the WalMart this evening I caught an Aggressive Sol following me...they ended up parking near me and of course we commented on each other's great taste in cars!
Shortened story....they are interested in the Dells ... said it sounded like something they would like to do so I gave them info for here and Facebook.
Very nice couple...hope we all get to meet them! :yay:
Jill and I were in the Dells on Monday & Tuesday for a mini-vacation and to go to Noah's Ark (9yr old nephews birthday).
Amazing to see that town in summer with the thousands of people and all the parks open for business.
:drool:We just so happened to stop for dinner at Cimaroli's on the way home Tuesday eveing... for nice 16 oz. flatiron, done medium, smothered with onions and 'shrooms with 6 shrimp scampi and fries (they still have the Italian potatoes...I wanted to change it up a bit). Place was empty for Tuesday...so the food came out quick...pure awesomeness!!!
Scared me for a minute Rob, I saw you posted here and was HOPING you were not going to give an excuse as to why you could not come.......Who would lead us on the beer pub run? lol
Loving the summer, but still looking forward to the Dells!
Even if I had to drive my clunky Subaru Outback through the twisties...I'd never leave you to drive a beer run on your own!!
In fact, for those coming up from the East...there is a new Brew Pub in Oconomowoc that has some amazing fresh beers iffin' you want to stop by my homestead en route to "The Lake of the Delton's". My personal favorite is the Jorge Jalepeno...imagine a light lager brewed with peppers in the process (not just "after flavoring - they put them in while brewing!!).
They also have a ginger infused beer called M.E.C.O. (main engine cutoff...the gal that runs the pub is a former Space Shuttle / NASA launch specialist --- she is absolutely incredible to talk too!!).
Jorge = Cool and crisp..then HOT...so you drink more cool and crisp...then HOT...and repeat until your saturated.
I plan to bring multiple "growlers" to the Dells run to share!:grouphug:
Okay boys and girls...only 11 weeks until the 7th Annual Dells Meet!
Ideas for some fun and games are forming, of course the Firepit will always be a crucial event for Saturday night festivities! But, plotting and planning some new fun things....stay tuned.
If you haven't made your reservation at Baker's Sunset Bay in Lake Delton yet make sure you don't miss out on a room! Just because it's the off season doesn't mean they don't fill up!
Friday night dinner will be own your own like always...many head out to our favorite Steak House - Cimaorli's. Some of us will arrive on Thursday and eat there that night to beat the weekend rush
Saturday dinner is being worked on and details will follow once everything is finalized....cost per person will be kept reasonable, as it has in the past, and most likely need to paid in advance.
Hopefully, Rob will again plan us an enjoyable Friday run of adventure to places unknown. Right Rob? If not, I'm sure we can come up with an interesting activity for everyone
In the next few days the "List" will be started....right now the farthest travelers will be coming from Colorado. Will there be anyone that can match or beat that? :dunno:
Yes, working on various plans for Friday's "Potpourri Run"...
The fire tongs are patiently waiting in the garage. No fire pits so far this year with our local burn ban but I'll have time to perfect my magic before Sept. rolls around.
Ummmm...don't think so....I'll check with Melanie tonight. We booked before we left. Did you tell them the WiSols group?
::edit:: special rate should be the same as what we've always paid, any issues let us know. You may have gotten someone "not in the know" taking your reservation. Have them check with Dawn.
