I've had the slave cylinder break on my 92 nissan pup. Luckily, I wasn;t far from home so I threw it in neutral and coasted to a nearby street. stopped to ispect it and dis this: turned off the truck. put it in 1st and started it in gear. then I rolled slowly home in 1st. I'll take a look at mine and look for signs of wear.
This is good to know but looks to be the first on our cars. Instead of a body shop, try a muffler shop, I bet they could tig weld it back in place for you and allot cheaper.
Yeah, I told myself I'd do mine myself if it broke but I always end up burning something. I have a general "weld shop" in my area and they would do it for $20 and a 6 pack of beer. Good idea on the muffler shop.
