I'm finding conflicting information online, maybe someone knowledgeable knows if a 2008 Solstice GXP has an anti-siphon screen going to the gas tank? Thank you.
There is a check valve at the bottom of the filler tube that is intended to prevent loss of fuel through the filler in the event of collision or rollover. I do not know if it will prevent siphoning fuel.

disconnect from the fuel rail, make sure you have something handy to jump the car off since this will drain it, but after disconnecting put disconnected hose end into a bucket, turn ignition on but do not crank, the system will try to prime the line and activate the fuel pump for a bit, let it squirt some out turn car off then back on until desired amount is drained. This meathod works on 2.4's I have no clue if it will work for a gxp since they have a high pressure pump driven by the intake cam due to direct injection.

This likely comes far too late for the OP, but I finally got access to the service manual.
  1. Remove the fuel fill cap
  2. Install J 42960-2 Fuel Flapper Door Holder
  3. Lubricate the J 45004 Fuel Drain Hose with J 36850 Transjet Lubricant
  4. Insert the hose through the filler hose until it reaches the bottom of the tank
  5. Use a hand or air operated pump to remove the fuel.
