Last year I had JPM do my boomerang and ebrake in leather ( had centre grip done in 2010 ) Am very, very happy with all jobs. However, I think it is time to deal with this remaining gray piece below the center grip. Am thinking of painting it black. Hopefully, this is a simple procedure. I planned to remove the piece and spray paint it with the plastic modeling paint as pictured. Anybody out there done this? Any thoughts / tips and pics appreciated.:thumbs: Or maybe I should just get JPM to cover it in leather?:willy::willy::willy:

I like plasti dip. it dries to the same color and has close to the same sexture as the other interior parts.
Oh, that is a great idea!:thumbs: I will be getting together with my pal Jackl soon and he has done a lot of plasti dip. This sounds like a plan!

:agree::agree:

The issue is the flexibility of the plastic parts. The first time I had the door trim piece painted, they did not use enough flex additive and as the paint cured, it pulled away from the plastic and formed a bubble under the paint at the inside of the sharpest curve. Since they redid them with more additive, they have been perfect.

I am not sure how much the model paint enamel will flex.

Glad I went with Plasti Dip!

Was over at my pal Jackl's Garage.:willy: He was good enough to plasti dip this piece. It now almost looks like leather. It matches my leather JPM Boomerang perfectly!!!!:thumbs:
