Glad I'm not the one who brought it up! I've wanted to do a carputer in all my cars for a long time now, but I've been waiting for the "industry" to come up with a good solution for a power supply and for solid state drives to reach an affordable and usable capacity.

Good luck with this. I'm sure if you pull it off I'll eventually follow in your footsteps.

ive been lurking at mp3car.com for a long time and havent had a car worth installing one. maybe when i get a sol that double din will be perfect size for a 7" widescreen touchscreen... also i was thinking of doing a latching/popout system like cardoor poppers so i can push a button and the whole unit pops out of the dash, disconnect a few wires and take it with me so noone can steal my precious pornography. err music....

Maybe the factory should offer some de-construction courses on some of the early preprods so you guys can practice without making the rest of us ill. And I thought those medical shows on TLC were hard to stomach.

Just take a BIG screwdriver, stick it in a crack and pry.lol.You have to remove the bezel around the cluster and radio. It is held on with clips.
Take it from a man who puts them together!

Guy's got a point. All modern interiors are either held on by clips or screws. If you can't find a screw, use a flat head screwdriver to pry them apart. It's usually a good idea to stick a cloth between the screw driver and the part so it doesn't leave any gouges or scratches as well.

And pry carefully. If the clips are actuallya molded part of the bezel, they can break.
