OK. I'm sure I'll take some hell for this, but black is tough to keep clean.

So I have taken my Solstice through the car wash. Brushless, and they treat it nice.

Rodeo, you're right, I'm overloading putfile. Hey Stang, you got me started on it, I'm blaming you.

Anyway, here are some pictures for you, if you have any specific questions, I will try to answer.

Did you notice any leaks from the high pressure wash? That sure is a great way to find them.

No leaks. Two things I want to point out.
In the picture that features a young woman with her back to the camera.

In that shot, the car is passing through the high pressure air dry. The roof flaps a bit at that point.

Second. After the car is finished, I asked them to dry the roof first, I then put it away.
The area of the 3M protection (under the buttress), collects water. If you don't put the top down, It will spot and run.

And Dylan, I knew I was going to catch hell but I'm trying to put as much mileage on before I put it away. You have to wash black at least every hundred miles or so. I have over 2000 on her today, its 3 week birthday

No complaints here...I'm surprized the ground clearance allowed it to go on the 'track'! I thought of doing the same thing as you and I'm glad to see you do it first. Obviosly the auto-washes have damaged your car, I noted they ripped the front plate right off the car!

There isn't much that beats a black car when it is clean, though...

The top has velcro along the edge of the buttress. It is possible to remove some wrinkles buy undoing it and reattatching it.

Deep is also hard to keep clean, so I too am guilty of taking my Solstice thru a car wash. I will hand wash it when there is time to do it, but the weather has to be just right as I have well water (hard water) that leaves water spots if it is too hot outside and it starts to dry before I am done with it. Also, having owned convertible Corvettes before the Solstice, I had found a few car washes in the area that are brushless and do a nice job. Living where I have to drive on dirt roads to get to my subdivision, the car dust brush does take off the initial layer of dust so that I can at least have a clean car in my driveway. Also, I am not going to put it away when winter hits, so it will be driven in snow, rain, and generally crappy weather year around, so it's going to see alot of the car washes. I will get it professionally detailed twice a year as I did with my Corvettes, which will help keep it looking nice.
