Not sure if i'm running hot or if this is stock temp.

Normal driving i am always around the 200* mark... Sperited driving I've seen it hit 210*.

Is this normal?

:agree: Pretty much, if you turn on the A/C the temps will drop faster if you need.

That's strange, mine runs a little hotter when AC is on. Maybe it's because my AC is quiet like it should be, not noisy as some have claimed.

You should be good with what you have, I tend to run a couple of degrees lower than U, but it can get warmer fast........YMMV!!

I would stay with what you have. The engine is designed to operate at that temp range. I think around 220 is the time to be looking at what is causing the problem, usually low coolant or an air bubble if you have a GXP. Only crack the radiator when the engine is cols.

Mine varies from 196 to 205 with most of the time at 199-201. I use to be at 198-199 until the dealer flushed and refilled this early spring. I had to get rid of some air in the system to get where I'm at now.

Modern motors are designed to run around 200. The fan in a C6 does not come on until 228. If you get to 250, then shut it down but running in the low 200s is not an issue.

There is a lot of evidence that indicates that hotter is better from a wear standpoint.

This topic was discussed at great length

ok thanks all.

I just put a whipple supercharger on my 2010 Camaro and the kit included a lower stat. But that's probably for all the heat build up the supercharger makes.

Mine usually runs 199.

Stopped in summer afternoon traffic it will climb to 206-208 at worst and drops back down fairly quickly once it gets moving again.

Wow....I run cold compared to you guys!! I'm usually 192-198. If I have my heater on I have gotten as hot as 205. But it quickly cools back down to 192-198 when I turn the heater off....yes...off...

Ok,
The normal operating temp is 195 -205. If you are driving hard it is perfectly normal and acceptable to see 215 - 220 indicated. Modern Corvette LS fans don't turn on until 228 f

When you turn on the heater, or blend heat and AC cooled air, the BCM ECM turn up the operating temp about 5 degrees

The oil is good to go to 250 at which time shutdown is recommended

My 2007 GXP is running 220-230 on a 90 degree day, should I be concerned? I just bought this car. Fan seems to run a lot.

That is high, you should check to see if your thermostat is really working.
You could also have air in the system but usually that is more prevalent when idling.
