I've had my solstice gxp for about 2 days now and I noticed after a cold boot the brakes are really hard to press and sometimes won't even stop the car without me applying a ton of pressure to the pedal what barley moves. I used to own a Saturn sky and it never once did this. After a few pumps though everything works just fine.

Any ideas on what to check first?

Check to see if its an early production 2008. Then verify that it does not have the electric vacuum pump on the left side of the motor. If so, then it's "normal".

There is a software update and a retrofit of the vacuum pump is possible. Or let it run far a few minutes to build vacuum.

There's a TSB out for that on the 2008 cars.

Yeah, I have an early '08 but had the TSB applied before I took it. I have no hint of the problem.

Git 'er dunn!

Thanks everyone..the car is an 08. Since it has a TSB I should be able to take it into any GM dealer and get it fixed correct? I've never had to use a TSB on a company that no longer exists :D
