How needed is an aftermarket bypass valve when applying a tune that will raise boost? I searched quite a bit but can't find anything definitive that indicates that there is much needed there (I'm not talking about a vent-to-atmosphere BOV).

They aren't very expensive so I'd get one if there is benefit, but I don't want to throw money at parts that aren't truly beneficial.

Early on, a few guys tried running aftermarket blow off valves with a stock turbo and a tune but weren't very successful. It's not needed until you go to a bigger turbo.
