Well at least it's well protected :)

But I agree, that may be hard to get to.

Wonder if Chilton or Haines is working on the book yet.

Those came in handy on previos cars.

I assume thats the oil drain on the lower right side. But where is the filter?

Up on the side, you get to it from the top. Different kind of filter.

Ya know, after looking at that pic again, I realized that after all the years I've worked on cars, that's really not a view that I like. ;)

Drain is still on the bottom (stupid gravity), but the filter can be changed from the top. Briefly discussed here.

I really doubt we're going to have oil pan gasket issues. Since the oil pan is cast and webbed aluminum vice stamped steel, it seems unlikely to me that it'll move relative to the engine block (also cast aluminum). I have 80,000 + miles on the ecotec in my VUE right now without a single leak anywhere.
