Just secured a custom leather interior from Palacio's in Scottsdale and the brakes are ready for pickup from Todd at TCE. All body components are in and awaiting install. I ended up getting a deal on TSW Snertterdons at DTD (I still love that look). Sound system is scheduling also. Engine work is complete.

Big news is that Brian at Echelon Autosports has offered a free vinyl wrap in any color I want.

I am looking at a rich, carmel leather interior, so keep that in mind.

But what color ideas do you have? Recall I have the RK Sport hood. I'll post photos of the wheels.

This will be a really fun car. Hope some of you will buy a raffle ticket.

Hey, I had a fun idea. I think I might let the kids at the hospital pick out the color of the car -- since there are hundreds to choose from, I'd narrow it down, but allow them to vote. That would raise some great awareness and really tie in the connection with the kids there.

I'm thinking I'd maybe offer 8-10 choices and let them vote. If I leave it open, the girls would vote for pink and the boys would vote for camouflage or worse...

Thoughts?...

UPDATE

Elite Automotive Finishes of Mesa just completed all the prep work -- sanding front bumper, removing dings, fitting and prepping the RK hood, etc. Now, Echelon Autosports is getting ready for the wrap. There was a logistics issue with the kids choosing the color, so they asked me to just pick one. I ended up deciding on a British Racing Green, but with a gloss, and it will go with a nice, supple, tan leather -- in the tradition of classic roadsters. Hope to see the color on within the week.

update

While we're waiting for schedule to open for the wrap install, I dropped off the car at Soundwerks Scottsdale for a complimentary full stereo upgrade - flat screen CD/DVD, amp, speakers, sub, reverse cam, steering wheel controls and a repaint of the dash to match the darker charcoal that surrounds it - like I did on the V8 Coupe.

Then wrap, coilovers, brakes, some small tweaks/upgrades and off to the interior guy for the tan leather to go with the BR Green exterior.

We are still considering various options for the car - raffle, auction, others. Once completed, I will use it as a tool to encourage others to do the same. Be clear though, the car will be donated, including the purchase price I have in it.

Windrestrictor just jumped on board with a nicely discounted set of "GXP" lighted door sill covers. Hoping to get those wired and installed while the car is in for the sound system.

Thanks, Paul!!

I'm funding personally with a lot of generous help from sponsors and vendors. I'm using this car to make contacts and encourage other owners and dealers to donate their cars for the deduction and support the kids at the hospital.

Progress continues, slowly but surely. (Beggars can't be choosers.)

Don at Soundwerks is prepping to put in the audio system (5 channel amp, JL 8" sub, Alpine touchscreen), reverse cam, steering wheel controls, repaint the boomerang to match the surrounding dash, replace a stuck ignition key, and install the Windrestrictor sill plates. Looks a mess at the moment, but it will be tighter than factory when he puts it all back together.

Whomever buys the car at whatever venue we decide on gets to keep the car.

I meant "once the custom work on the car is completed," we'll use to as a marketing tool to generate more interest in this program, and then I will donate it outright to the hospital and they will sell is in some venue to the lucky new owner (auction, etc.).

BTW, Paul, the Windrestrictor lighted sill covers look fantastic in white - subtle and classy (and super cool at night). There are so many little touches on this car from all you supporters that really make it special!

Photos below. Honestly, the green is a little lighter than I was expecting, but is growing on me. Will really pop with the tan seats and door panels to come.

Don at Soundwerks did a fantastic job on the the stereo build. More info on that to follow.

Big brakes, coilovers, subtle drop up to follow interior. Anyone think a tan top will work better with this combo?
