Hello been visting the forum for a couple months, couldn't stand it any more so I went to my dealership on 9/18 and put a deposit on a 2007, deep everything but smokers xm and wheels I did order the splash gaurds but the salesman didn't have price yet. I did get a signed purchase agreement for msrp at time of delivery the administration fee is 59.00 (didn't seem out of line) the salesman said that it would be Oct or Nov of 2006 before it came in so that it would be a 2007 It was written up as a 2007 on the purchase agreement also. It seems like a long wait But a lot of you have been waiting longer. Besides it will allow me to save a bigger down payment So let the wating begin. current ride 86 ford escort gt ( yes I know) purchased new so I think is't only fitting to get in to the 21st cenury with a Solstice

I might be a little out of touch over here, but I did not know you could already reserve a 2007. That is great, if it is correct ... where are you located?

Des Moines Iowa I didn't know weather you could or not but the salesman said that oct-nov of 06 would be as soon as I could get one so it would a 07
It's not a gpx so I didn't think much about it I wouldn't think the 2006 model would be coming that late in the year but as I am new to the forum and I haven't had do deal with carsalesmen in a long time he could have just said that to make me happy but as I am willing to wait it didn't make much difference, all though the purchase agreement states 2007

The wait seems legit, but I did not know you could reserve a 07. If you wanted one sooner, then I believe you could find one by April/May.

It is good that you do not mind waiting, because most people want a Sol ASAP. I am in the same boat as you , due to being away ... so I am curious about the ability to reserve 07s at other locations.

Thanks for the information and welcome to the forum.

You may want to consider having the order rewritten as a GXP version for MSRP. From what I'm hearing, MSRP for a GXP may be $5,000 below what dealers are going to ask for them next Fall. Just something to think about.

Can we "lock In" a 2007 now?
If so, I might get my wife to check out the local dealer. They told her that they were only getting 3 more this MY and 1 was sold. I believe one was Cool and not sure of the other Sol. I am just going to wait for the 2007 GXP ... if it is made.

Why would a GPX be 5000.00 less ? I can't believe your going to get a sol for 14995.00, There going to put other add on's I bet so the price stays the same.

The best you can do at this time is put your name on a dealer waitlist. Saturn dealers are doing it for the Redline version. Try to get a commitment in writing that the car will be sold at MSRP to you. Delivery of the GXP is expected fall/winter 2006 timeframe. If you haven't seen the latest spyshots from Germany take a look at the thread on this board.

Thanks, I have seen the photos and think I will wait for the GXP/Redline. I do not want to worry my wife with dealing with the paperwork, so I will wait until Jan 2006 to get on the list. How long do you think the wait will be, if I get on a list in Jan? Just curious for your opinion. Thanks.

Jan 2006 may be too late. I've been on the dealer waitlist since Jan 2005 for a regular sky and May 2005 for the Redline. Last check with my dealer they already have 5 people on the redline waitlist.
