Those liners will not provide a "seal" of any kind - they are merely "splash guards".

While the plastic push-pins will not be "snug" they will be secure. They won't pull out unless the center pin is pulled out first. Now that I think of it, had mine been secured with the push pins instead of screws that cat I hit a few years back probably wouldn't have done $2,800.00 worth of damage . . .
That must have been one heckuva cat!!

Not really. If you check the clearance between your front tire and the wheel liner you'll see it isn't really "skull distance". So it took out the liner which was screwed to the mounts so the mounts bent and twisted and tore off the mounting lug for the front nose piece.

On the upside, I used the fact that I didn't have a wheel liner to make a quick battery change before I took it into the body shop! ;)
