I found today's discussions about price gouging and dealer documentation fees to be quite interesting.
Then I get home from work and collect the mail, where I find.... three letters, each regarding a Class Action Law Suit against NJ dealerships for excessive fees charged to customers for a specific period of time from 1997 to 2003. (My ex-husband and I had bought three cars in that time frame, hence the 3 copies of the letter.) Each letter includes a $100 off coupon for use on a new car purchase or lease, to be used at the dealership where the original purchase took place. Lucky for me I guess that one of the three dealers is the same one as where I ordered my Sol. So it looks like I'll be getting $100 off, which should help counter the $149.50 Documentary Fee that is on my current contract.
Makes me want to find the contracts for those other 3 cars, to see what I paid that was considered "excessive."
