Hey guys-

Can someone tell me if axles are only splined to differential or are they retained by snaprings or some other means? Looks like I may have to R&R my differential as I have the "hypoid whine" and am tired of it. Its a 2007 GXP. I asked the question because I wouldn't think axle retention would be problem given the upper and lower A-arm arrangement.

I guess this whine was covered for 5 yrs or 100,000 but that's not going to help me.

Hi, I'm with just over new here just got a 2007 red GXP with just over 19000 on the odo. Has the infamous whine. Going to flush the diff fluid first, any recommendations on what fluid to use or what is going to be involved in getting this fixed would be helpful. I did check with GM and the diff recall was performed.
