I waited months and months of my shipment of Amsoil to arrive, and then finally got to put some of it in the Saturn a few weeks ago. I replaced the rear diff and the transmission fluid at that time, and since then, I've noticed that the shifting is much more difficult, especially when cold--the total opposite effect of what I was expecting.

I used the fluid recommended by Amsoil, so I think I used the right stuff. Has anyone else experienced similar effects with this fluid in this transmission? I'd hate to drain brand new fluid, but if there is something that's going to shift better--I probably want to use it.

I'll also say, even before the change, the shifting on this vehicle isn't great. This isn't the first vehicle I've owned with an Aisin/Toyota transmission, I ran another one to 218K miles, and it was reliable enough, but the shift quality was quite poor. I expected a little better from a unit with such low miles.

I refilled my transmission and diff with the Amsoil products a couple of years ago, including the additive for the LSD; it shifts at least as well as with the original fluids. Perhaps they've changed the formulas in the last few years?
