Well, I am up near North Bay and have put about 500 KM on my Cool Solstice so far. I think a vanity plate name would be "clunk" in the front and "no trunk" in the back.
Yes, I am defiantely hearing a lot of the clunking in the drivetrain that I have heard. The trunk, well we have had to really squeeze two duffle bags in the crevice at the back.
But, this car is a blast to drive and it really rides and drives nice. It is turning out to be a real head turner. Was parked at Casino Rama this morning and a guy was all over it. I chirped the alarm as a joke.
Think I might head to Ottawa tomorrow so if anybody wants to hook up let me know.
The dealer had the 3M trimline guy in from Oshawa when I was there and said he would apply the stone guard to the front for about $250 Canadian. Seems like an excellent price. I wanted to have it done but he just took another job and didn't have time Tuesday. I may go back.
The dealer there still has a deep available for sale and I am getting emails from other dealers in Toronto and London with cars available.
My brother-in-law last Friday saw a cool Solstice, MX5 Miata and Honda S2000 going down the 407 with dealer plates. Looks like they were taking pictures too.
Maybe there is going to be a Canadian review coming out.

"Crevice" is the best description of the trunk I've heard yet. A shallow crevice.

Sounds like you are loving your car, despite the "character enhancements".

maybe the clunk you hear is people's jaws dropping and hitting the pavement as you drive by

Driving and Liking it Too!

Like the posting above, this car is definitely a head turner! And, I love the drive.

Today, I ran out to the bank just around the block, knowing that on the way, there was a great, sharp right turn with a little incline...knowing this ahead of time, I decided to really throttle hard into the turn. Man, this car just shoe horned into the turn. I got that rush in the gut feeling but best of all, as I checked my rear view mirror, there was a volvo trying to catch up and see what kind of car this was...that volvo was ALL OVER THE ROAD, fish tailing out and back in. To me, that was a good test to see how a normal sedan would handle in tight turns vs. the Sol.

I was smiling the rest of the day thinking of that moment.

And, tonight, I was talking with some folks who were trying to guess how much I paid, one said $40+ the other said "no, more like $50K! I didn't tell them the price...but it made me feel great.

I'm one jelious dude.

I don't mind saying it, I thought I would be the first one to get my Solstice!
The stories are nice to hear. I'm glad you are having lots of fun. All I can say is don't be shy! Tell us everything!

Has anyone had girls just jump in the car as it's still moving? Just curious

I have, but not in a Solstice. LOL

I am starting to think I may have been right about the 2500 canadian orders being total orders by dealers, but not necessarily sold through to customers. Perhaps I'm being to hasty shopping for C5's now?

funny you should say that because that is the reaction I got several times yesterday as I was driving up Hwy 11 going through some small towns and even people in cars passing me.

my wife keeps saying it would be a good car to pickup girls. The lady at the side of the road in Sunridge that dropped her jaw, pointed at the car and let out a howl that we heard even with the windows up just wasn't that attractive. The lady that passed us on Hwy 11 that was pointing a smiling looked older but also looked like there was money there too. Ha Ha

Fortyninenorth remember the story of the old bull and the young bull, they may be able to run down and get one but i'm going to walk down and have them all. There is something nice to getting old both in peace of mind as well as knowledge.

Great White, your picked a helluva day (to quote Cretien) to come to Ottawa on a road trip. I guess you will be able to determine if the roof leaks.

Supposed to clear this afternoon, but it's going down to 3C (37F) overnight! So in one trip you'll be testing the roof and the heater.

Well then a good reason not to let the other "car" know about them... ;)
or just find one that does everything good and stick with it... like I have for 32 years... :)
