Hello, are the lug nut covers different from the factory silver painted aluminum wheels vs the chrome wheels? I am thinking about swapping and need to know whether I will also need new lug nut covers. Thanks in advance.
You should take them off and maybe rotate them while you have them off otherwise they'll seize on. You'll look funny swinging a sledge hammer trying to break the wheels from the car when they seize.
I had a wheel stud snap on the hyundai and it was thanks to Firestone for stripping it and over tightening it. then they would not inspect it cause it was missing one and wanted to charge me $70 to fix it. they got the middle finger and I bought one for $3 at AZ, hammered it in and I have never been back. changing them out is no fun task. I use antisieze on them now. always.
I put lug nut in a Google search and came up with quite a few alternatives to the beat up factory lug nuts on my car. Very reasonable too! I got some red ones to match the red center caps. They come in various shades and look pretty good with the chrome wheels, but that's just my opinion.
