Great morning installing 3M Pro Paint protection film on front fenders and rockers to dogbone. Easy peazzy! Can out flawless.

Can’t see it over 2 feet away. Glad to have done it before putting the splash guards on, they make contact. Front fenders covered by the tape, I need to loosen them and install some strips to protect the rear Fascia.

I think I’m ready for the stones on the body side at least!

Glad it went well . You must have chosen to go with black splash guards.

I did choose Black, and I have to say the vehicle looks fantastic with them, it has a more modern dressed appearance. The protection is a bonus!

I like the colored ones they seem to blend in more like the super cars have
every color and car is different. And like women we too all are different, some more different than others.
For me after finaly getting the nasty trunk covers off ,I dont ever see me putting any clear protective stuff back on.
Those are two separate things Mark, I can assure you. Those trunk covers are adhesive backed, spending years on a horizontal painted surface cooking in the sun.

There is no adhesive in 3M Pro Paint protective film. It’s only bond mechanism to the paint surface occurs when the liquid layer between the film and the paint is removed, then the air gap between the film and the paint is removed, both with a squeegee. Days later, the last remnants of moisture between the paint and film evaporates, which point the film shrinks into environmentally robust bond against the paint surface.

In the future, at any time the owner desires it can be pealed off in a single piece. The film I used has the longest product warranty available at 10 years. It’s literally perfect in my view.

RE: the black splash guards, the votes for black over colored were 3 to 1. They look great!😂

In reference to women was that a polite way of saying some women are crazier than others. 😂
I can picture the wife’s aggressive gxp with those, thanks to your pics. Are the flaps after market? Does fitment require drilling? Looks great! (y)

Bought the flaps off Amazon. There are 2 or three “Brands” listed. My guess is they are all from the same tool, but to prevent any possible mismatch I bought the more expensive ones,

They fit nice and the show surface is grained, which gives them a nice look.

Think they are possibly made off an old GM tool, the tool number has a GM symbol.

RE fitment, no drilling, they are absolutely made just to fit Kappas. In the front you will need a 10mm socket to get the lower fender fastener out. The others around the fender liners are 7 or 8mm.

It’s a pain to get the 10mm fastener in because it has a captured washer that interferes with the curve at the bottom. I made it fit by digging it in a little into the flap, and it’s not a show surface.

For the rears you need a trim tool to pull out three Christmas trees on each side, put the flap n place and reuse them.

There are fasteners supplied, I didn’t use them. I am going to replace the 6 Christmas trees as they have slightly lost their bite to the rear fascia. Maybe that is what the fasteners are for, I wouldn’t put them in my fascia !

Hi Richard, I will check, something Chinese. Got them from Amazon, but there are 2 or three that look identical
I'm going on Amazon right now, do I search for mud guards?
Found a few different sets, they all look identical. Prices from $35-$55
True, and as I said previously they maybe the same
I ordered the 35 dollar ones. Pretty sure their all made by the same company.

For the life of me I am unable to ascertain where the clear stuff is. Which i suppose is the point.
Nice job sir! I wonder if they have them in paint match black as it is too late for my rear quarter panels :(
SPLASH GUARDS WARNING! Be aware that if you're car is lowered there is a chance that they can catch on inclines and declines, even large potholes. Leading to possible body damage. Both of our cars are lowered, if I installed them I'd have to trim the bottoms of the fronts and backs to avoid them catching on the ground.

Not just lowered vehicles, any Kappa. I had to get my vehicle emissions tested today at a facility where the roads in , parking lot and exit road were littered with potholes big and small. I couldn’t avoid one of them and even though I was crawling speed I heard the splash guard scrape the pavement e.g the hole. No harm done. Wouldn’t want to be a few inches lower!
