Thank you for contacting the Pontiac Customer Assistance Center. We
appreciate you taking the time to write us in regards to the Miami
Lakes dealer who is selling a Pontiac Solstice on E-Bay. We
appreciate your notification of the Miami Lakes' selling practice.
We understand your frustration.

As General Motors can only produce a finite number of vehicles in a
given year, we have established a Vehicle Allocation System. General
Motors developed this system at the request of our dealerships, to
ensure that vehicles are allocated in a fair manner. Dealerships
have a certain allocation for vehicle orders and cannot exceed that
allocated number. These allocations are based on several factors
that your sales manager would be in the best position to explain. He
should also be able to tell you what his allocation dates are. He
will not know until that date if he will have an allocation for the
vehicle you have ordered. Once the factory assigns an order number
and communicates this to your dealer, they can check the status of
the production, even providing a target completion and delivery date.

General Motor's dealerships are independent businesses, and as such,
are responsible for the day-to-day operations of their business.

If you should need to contact us in the future, simply reply to this
message or call our Pontiac Customer Assistance Center at
1-800-762-2737. Customer Relationship Managers are available Monday
through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Eastern Time. Your
service request number is ...

Sincerely,

Glinda Hamerter

GM responce... to 1 of 1000

I didn't feel that this answered the problem of a dealer selling "one of the 1st 1000". The rep that emailed me wrote that he is forwarding my email to another/different GM group... wonder if they will, at least, check into it further. :brentil:

The ebay listed car sold for 27,100 with ten bids... Interesting-that there aren't any SOLSTICE cars listed now... :lurk:

How could they get a car or register and confirm for someone? Don't see how they're going to do it... Pontiac is aware of the situation and... they (Miami Lakes GMC) might just end up with a disappointed customer - not a 1KS. :grouphug:
