I was just looking over our forum stats as compared to some of Troy's other automotive forums (links at bottom) and was surprised to find out membership and activity is close to (and sometimes better than) those forums, even though the vehicles those forums represent have been on the market for a while. The stats:

Forum............Members....Threads......Posts
Solsticeforum....1611.........2,299........38,508
Chevy SSR........1986........3,666........33,661
Pontiac GTO......2094........2,457........19,521
Cadillac XLR.......859..........846...........6,990
Saturn Sky........262..........188...........2,398

I think this really illustrates just how much excitement the Solstice is creating among enthusiats! It is really going to take off here when cars get into the hands of buyers!

I can't say that I know this for a fact, but I think you'll see things actually decrease. The excitement is now - not necisarilly later. IMHO.

And don't forget to account for all the time we will spend driving our Solstices instead of sitting in front of a computer screen in some dark, dreary room making "small talk" with our forum friends. :)

Yeah, but I doubt it will go down, because I believe we will be getting more people onboard after they buy cars. It will also bring around a whole new bunch of topics that will be discussed. Anything from new car experiences, problem areas (hopefully very few), modifications and upgrades, buying experiences, get togethers, etc. There will also still be excitement about the rumored forced induction models we think may be on the horizon too! :)

It only goes up from here. This is jsut the excitement of the people who have seen/learned about the Solstice by being hard core (or the Apprentice too I guess). Once the cars are on the streets they'll be their own rolling billboards.

Are you saying the having is never so good as the wanting?

As soon as the first 1000 start to be delivered the posts are going to go through the roof with question from everyone who is still waiting for their Sol to be delivered. Solstice excitement is just beginning at this point, wait until the first key is inserted into an ignition by the 1 of 1000 lucky owner. WOW!

Yeah, even now, the vast majority of the teaming masses don't know what a Solstice is. When they become as common as Miatas or even Mini's, there'll be a big jump in new members. And, I imagine GM really hasn't gotten anywhere close to the publicity blitz it'll have when the cars are in the showroom.

Maybe GM/Pontiac will give us royalties

Pretty impressive for a "newbie" on the block. When we get on the level of say Corvette, Mustang, Porsche or even Miata then we can look back at these early days and tell our grandchildren stories about the Solstice EOP! :)

Awww, man, those numbers are nothing compared to The One Forum:

One forum to rule them all,
One forum to find them,
One forum to bring them all,
And in the darkness, bind them.

I speak of, CorvetteForum-> Off Topic -> Off Topic. Most of the yahoos that hang out in CFOT (CorvetteForum Off Topic) don't even have Vettes, but Vette owners are a pretty nice bunch of tolerant guys, at least on the CorvetteForum. There was this one member, Cobra Cari, yeah, a Stang owner, totally hot, who was a CFOT regular...

But back on topic, SolsticeForum is off to a great start! Congratulations to you all, you are what make it great.

not only addictive, it's contagious

Great numbers, it's addictive in here!

First 1000 Membership - Maybe you should "wait list" some of the "old timers"- then upgrade them to First 1000 member status, (what rule could you modify... hummmmm) say, if a 1/1000 member is inactive for over a year (or two) or they have never posted after logging in more than one time "You've lost your title" (all mighty one, hehe). After all is that really being a MEMBER? Some of the First 1000 members may have only had a single post, and that was a loooong time ago... can you tell IF they've logged in?

EOP forum style... yah- you were 1/1000 but yeah ya lost your place-and you were disqualified... Next! lol. It could happen...

 :yesnod:  :yesnod:

And answer the questions, "Yes dear, there really was someone named Donald Trump. And no, people back then thought his hair was real. Now go to sleep. "

Which Donald Trump do you mean, because in Pittsburgh there is a cancer specialist, Donald Trump, MD.
