So this morning, I awaken to a faint meowing sound coming from an unknown source. I figure it's my cat wanting some food since he usually meows in the morning for me to get up and get him some grub.

Well I go outside and I don't see him at the door but I still hear a faint meowing sound, so I get my shoes and start walking around the house. Still no sign of him. So I decide I'll try walking around the neighbors houses to see if I can locate where he is.

Before I start walking around the neighborhood, I realize I left my sunglasses in my car so I walk to my car and open my door to get my sunglasses. Suddenly I'm super confused. I see my cat huddled where the carpet is on the passenger side very scared and distressed. I immediately take him out and get him some water and check his vital signs. He seems to be okay now and ate up all of his food.

My question is, how did my cat end up inside my Solstice? Is it possible for cats to get into cars without entry through the doors? He was never in my car when I was in the vehicle the evening before so I'm just curious if there's some passage-way that got him inside.

I was fortunate to have found him in time because it was 75 degrees outside and much hotter inside. I want to prevent that from happening again but I don't really know how.

I think you had the door open , maybe getting something out and it jumped in you closed the door not knowing it ,or your Buttrus where the Velcro is was open enough he managed to get in. Check for Fur in that area .that is the only way he could have gotten in without the door being open. Is one of your windows down ?

Back in the 80's Lee Iacoca spoke at a conference of car makers and suppliers. He told of how Toyota would test the air tightness of their vehicles by putting a cat inside one for the weekend. If the cat suffocated they knew they had it right.

He then stated that they tried the same test at Chrysler. When they came in Monday the cat was GONE.

(Of course it wasn't a true story, but spoke to the difference in quality back then.)

Don't be joking about this. It is a sad thing.

One of ours got locked in my wifes scion about 2 months after we got it. the cat was fine but it tried to dig itself out thru both door panels and the back window. ruined both door panels and scratched up the back and around the windshield. it just takes a seond and they dart right in there. glad for you everyone is OK.
