Price reduced: $325.00. I sold the car. The tune gives the car an extra boost and makes the turbo spool up faster. I got 34MPG with it when I took thr cat to Myrtle Beach.

Can the seller or anyone else comment on the following:

  • What advantage, if any, does the Bosch ECM have over the OEM module?
  • How good is the PCM For Less tune compared to something like the Trifecta Budget Tune?
  • I assume changing out an ECM is very easy, but what problems can this create, effectively giving the car a brain transplant? Could it really be as simple as a swap-and-go?

Based on the answers to these questions, I may be interested.

1: The OEM 2.0L Turbo LNF ECU is a Bosch part.

2: Get a custom tune not a "canned" tune (canned tunes are not always safe), buy HPTuners and custom tunes are only $100-300, check out and post questions on the HPTuners forum

3: You will need to have it re calibrated/tuned for your car VIN and BCM, or you will need HPTuners to do a VAT relearn/elimination. It will not be swap and go.

You can swap ecms from 07 to 07 you do not need HPT...

Vehicle can do its own vats/bcm learning. Procedure has been posted here.

Sorry I haven't responded sooner but I have not been on the Forum.

The Bosch ECM is a GM part, not an aftermarket one.

The PCM for less is a custom tune (NOT A CANNED TUNE) that I had to increase performance but not too eratic where the car was hard to control. This tune increased my mileage which was a nice surprise.

The ECM will clip right in and you can have your car go through the learn process. As part of the package when I had the tune done, PCM for Less will change the tune for $50.00 if you want.

The ECM will only fit an 07 GXP.

I hope this answered some of your questions.

Does the key & FOB & Halo ring come with it? Normally, I have learned by trial & error that once the ECM is disconnected, it Has to be Re-programmed!
Uh, no....

I swap back and forth between my ECMs for emmisions testing.

My keyfob always works.

Manual Trans.

I would swap it back & forth also. That's why I went through the expense of the seperate ECM vs. just a tune. Plug it in and go.

Price reduced to $300.00 - OBO. I went on Ebay and PCM wants $425.00 for the same tuned ECM.
