Hi all,

I closed the deal, gonna pick up my Solstice tomorrow.

Here are the specs:
Year: Delivered to dealer June 21 2007
Miles: 14150
Color: Red with gray interior
Gearbox: Automatic
Engine: 2.4
The car is very clean, except for one seat.

I am allowed to keep it a few days for an extended test drive, in case I am not happy I am allowed to return it.

Anything I should make sure I check ?

Uh, I don't think you'll be taking it back - unless something REALLY major is wrong.

Kappa ownership is kind of like the song Hotel California. You can check out anytime you'd like, but you can NEVER LEAVE!!!

Congratulations and welcome to the forum! Great info here as the above posts said. Make sure it isn't a flood car and enjoy the ride.

Red 2007

Welcome to the madness! Everyone needs an obsession. (I too have a 2007
Red Solstice) Enjoy your new ride. I hope you live someplace warm where you can enjoy it now,I have to wait till spring to drive mine, or at least wait till the snow melts. Spend some time going through the older posts,it's very enlightening.

Did a good test drive today, also did the check list mentioned in this forum, below some remarks collected over the last few days.

-1- One body panel is a bit off, I will repair that later this year using the great pdf instructions located in this forum. Actually I noticed this before buying the car.

-2- I really miss not having an engine temperature gauge. Can this be installed after market ?

-3- What are the blue thingies in this image below ?

-4- The passenger side door window pushes the fabric of the rag-top back, instead of "flipping" behind it.

-5- One of the clips of the rag-top gutters is not staying together any more. See image below.

-6- Did not check the rear-diff yet, as mentioned in this thread.

-7- CarMax service was great. Full tank of gas and they will reimburse the costs of ordering pouch + owners manual ( I ordered it at helminc.com )

-8- Before buying the car I noticed that the drivers seat is not clean (rain ? starbucks ?). See image below. But luckly the seat covers can easily be removed. Is there a place online where I can order these stock covers ?

-9- Does anyone knows a car storage in the Naperville area (25 miles radius) ? Looking for a storage with at-least a roof.

-10- Can I find out when the building of this car was completed ? I do know it arrived at the dealer on 21 June 2007. :)

-11- Can I find out how many where built before this one ?

-12- Where can I find price info on a stock rear spoiler ?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

3- That is a bit of high performance anti rub tape. Lol - When you fold the roof into the trunk it helps keep the roof at the fold from rubbing the rubber trunk lid gasket. You will see when you go topless.

Sweet looking ride!

2. - I believe you do have an engine temperature gauge - it's in the Driver Information Center (DIC). Press the "menu" button on the steering wheel and it will cycle through all of available info.

I believe many have installed separate temp gauges. I'll check the forum.

The "base" car, with roll up windows etc has no DIC.

At least the 08 base car I bought for my sister in law did not.
