GM keeps promise on sports car price
General Motors Corp. has stayed true to its word. The carmaker rolled out a new sports car, the Pontiac Solstice, at under $20,000. The two-seat convertible will be officially priced at $19,995 when it goes on sale this summer. That price includes a $575 destination charge. GM, which hopes to sell about 20,000 of the new vehicles a year, announced pricing earlier this week on the company's new Weblog. GM says that sub-$20,000 price gets you 177 horsepower with a five-speed manual transmission, 18-inch wheels, glass rear window and a CD player as standard equipment.
