Does anyone have experience in locating and buying salvaged Kappa parts? I've Googled Salvage Auto and find totaled Kappa vehicles but it appears they want to sell the entire car as opposed to selling parts off salvaged cars.

Back in the day salvage owners would allow the public to go into their lot and pull parts, sadly that's the exception rather than the rule now because most salvage yards have gone to a computer inventory sytem so that parts can be advertised and sold all over the world. Add in that it can be very difficult to find a salvage Kappa locally.

There has to be a better way of locating parts instead of posting "Looking" or waiting until someone advertises parts here and there on the forum.

only luck I've had is calling salvage yards, seeing if they have a part or can order one from a distant salvage yard.....if no go, bite the bullet and purchase new from dealership or online.....

Everytime I have to do this, I get more and more worried, as it's harder and harder.....meaning in the years to come, there won't be parts left to find/purchase.

You can search for whatever you are looking for here:

Nationwide Car Parts Search
You know, that sounds like a great resource. However, every time I've posted (most recently for a GXP rear fascia) I get inundated with emails and phone calls saying they have the part, but when I call them back, they say "we don't have the part." It's pretty obvious they reply to every posting, hoping to snag some business, but don't even bother to check before they contact you with the automated reply "good news" that they have your part. It was VERY frustrating. :( Will never do this again.

I go to my painter and he finds parts for me. He is in the business so he gets several inputs and we pick the best looking one

for the most part they are all on the same linking system and collect data on a global network. I got some things I needed from " Pick a Part " in Columbia, Ohio . I think they had a couple solstice there. I do know they had lots of parts for Pontiacs . Performance Car Parts to.
