Help! How do I access the automatic transmission program for the 5L40? It can't be accessed with HP Tuner and the one or two shops who know how won't say. What's the big secret?!

Have you been on hptuners.com forum and asked? I seem to remember something on their forum about accessing the auto trans on a solstice/sky. And I could have told you the 2 that were mentioned before would be of no help. They were of no help for me! And all I wanted to know was if they tuned my car.....:lol:

Hey. Thanks for that. There was a posting about it there but no one replied! I did a search of some other postings and sent out some inquires. Maybe someone will come through.

In searching my memory . . . . long and foggy as it may be . . . there was a discussion about tuning for the auto transmission back in 08. I believe that at that time no one had decoded the transmission machine language enough to do tuning but there was discussion about Westers eventually getting into the Transmission Controller and ECM code to optimize the transmission operation

I have not seen anything about it since then. I would give a jingle to Westers and see if they have made any actual progress.

I emailed Lyndon and he told me "I read the cal from the TIS discs..." What's a TIS disc?

Thanks for that. Interesting thread. Now you have me scared to death I'll have auto trans problems! So far, it's run perfectly. Still need to know how to take a look at the TCM program. Does anyone know anyone who can tell me that?

Check the trifecta web site, I think saw something there when I dealing them.

The probability that you will have an issue is small. If you do, then at least you have a pretty good understanding of what the likely issues might be and can address them. Prior to our voyage of discovery, people were told to live with it until they had a hard failure.
