I got pulled over a couple of years ago (had the Sol for 2yr at the time.) Gave me a warning, no mention of the missing front tag. (Required in Wisconsin.) I think he was checking out the car! Is it really illegal to spin your tires when you're just trying to get going?:willy:

I got lucky too, about a year after getting the car I got pulled over, popo asked why I was in such a hurry(I was heading back home)what could I say? so I told him I don't know, I guess I just got a heavy foot. he laughed and said I like the "no bull**** excuses" and let me go after telling me it could have been a $300 fine, not to mention points against my licence. The Photo Radar on the other hand, %&*$#@

It's called spend some money and get a good radar detector. I have the Escort 9500 and so far it's been okay. Saved me a few times.

Got my first Solstice (an N/A) in December '06. Traded it in August '07 for a GXP. No tickets until this last June when I got nailed for speeding on the way to NASSM 2013 in the little cow town of Show Low, AZ by an unmanned patrol car-mounted radar. :cuss:

One month - no front plate. Plus a $10 victim fee, not sure who was hurt by me not having a front plate...

got one doing 55 in a 25 in the speed trap town of Elsmere, de. its like 3 miles long on rt 2 and there are never less than 2 cops waiting for ppl like me that do not drive slower than 50. i was new to the area and didnt know the reputation this ****ty town had towards passers by. that was about a month after i got my gxp. it was probably my 4th speeding ticket and ive been driving for 12 years. thats pretty good imo. also have had 2 or 3 warnings. i usually know where cops hang out on highways but did pass one in the median of i think 95 doing probably 105. dont think he was watching my direction tho bc he never moved...that would have been really, really bad. i probably would have lost my license for a few months.

the last time i had a radar detector i came out of a music festival to a smashed window and and mangled dash. i should have hidden it but forgot (and left the head unit faceplate installed). plus my gf hates how fast i drive and wouldnt be too happy knowing i am enabling myself. especially since i am really trying to slow down.

In Ontario, Canada they use to give you a ticket for "excessive noise".

It is now considered "stunt driving", they can now impound your vehicle and suspend your licence for 7 days (no recourse, the cop is the judge and jury here) and up to a $10000 fine.

This worries me since on a hot summers day, I often chirp the tires when starting from a start making a right turn without intending to.
