Yesterday somebody stole my outside mirrors, just the glass... My question is if I buy them on a GMC Dealer (part 15236511), just the glass, it comes with the plastic thing on the back to snap into the mirror motor? The motor is intact.

Well it depends what parts are left. Do you still have #6 in this image? If so, the part you quoted (#5) is all you need.

Haha I know, I do not know why someone would stole the two mirrors, not only one hahaha. They are really cheap, like 6 dlls. each!

well, if they actually snap on like that then you should count your lucky stars. most are glued on. for someone to know that they snap off tells you the level of crook you are dealing with. if someone asked me, Id say they were glued. I'd keep my eyes open for another kappa in your area and see if maybe their mirror housings are dented or scratched. maybe they ran into something and broke them and figured out that they snap on. that is weird, someone risking being blown to bits for $15 worth of glass.

Most modern cars have clipped on mirrors. The glass is glued to a backer frame and that snaps on to the motor/carrier.

That is just a sad commentary on modern life . .. Many no longer have respect for the property (or person) of others. I could turn this into a social commentary but what is the point . . .

I do have a couple of spare mirrors and can see about pulling the mirrors out of them tonight.
