On my way to the airport this morning I received a nice fat $280 speeding ticket. The officer, hidden like a rat, in her speed trap was nice enough to drop it down to a 54 in a 45 for $130. Thanks for the Christmas present. This caused me to miss my flight.

And I was really pissed until I realized....this was my first speeding ticket ever in the Solstice. It took almost 4 years and about 37,000 miles. I'll be happy if I can keep this average up.

Is there anyone who remains ticketless? Did anyone get a speeding ticket right away?:devil::devil:

I remain ticketless. got pulled over once for 53 in a 45 but I guess he liked my excuse so he just gave me a warning. Last ticket on my record was in the late 80's. You can take DD and get it dismissed. sure, it's a waste of time but better than being on your record. fastest I've ever been clocked for was 110 and the guy wrote it for 88 in a 55.

Not trying to jinx myself but I have only been given a warning for accelerating through a yellow light. Cop was a douche and had a ride along cop wannabe and I was 17. Wish I knew then what I know now, I probably would have handled it differently.

I only hit it hard in the county roads when nobody is around in the gxp. I have it up to 110-115ish but that gets a little hairy on bumpy roads.

TX08 that cop was nice to you. In Indiana anything over 20mph over the posted speed limit and they can impound your car. Plus, you have to go to court to get it out if they want to be a turd about it.

yeah RT, I was lucky. this was in the 78 TA that was still in my grandmothers name and I don't think the plates were current nor the inspection. I pulled over into a gas station and the guy working there was my friend and he verified that the car was my grandmothers and all I got was that reduced ticket. Can't remember but I'm sure I was high probably had a beer or two too. nowdays, they probably would have just shot me. seems like we all run into the kind officer that gives us a break. I have been pulled over for a bunch of stuff in the last 5 years but never got a ticket for it.

Completely ticket free my entire life!!! That's 24 years of driving! Knock on wood....<knock><knock> And I've had this car to 110, a Lincoln LS to 140 and my Mustang to 125..... But who's counting?!?! I've got well over 750,000K logged in my life.

Don't get me wrong...i've had several occassions where the lights have been on to come after me, only to have someone else do something even more stupid!!!

I got a speeding ticket for doing two over in my parents neighborhood about three days after buying my first car and first solstice and I haven't had one since. I shouldn't have any at all but that cop was not having a good day I guess.

"2" Over??? That's extraordinary. Out here you really have to screw up to even get their (Cops) attention, like flail a gun out the window, ramming their squad, drive by and flip 'em off. But speeding 2 over, never, pfft, that's barely mentionable... I've seen people run red lights right in front of them and absolutely nothing happened. But you show a weapon, real or otherwise, hey even the end of a broomstick, and you'll be hog-tied and pummeled within an inch of your life before you can count to 10, oh and tasered too. :)

It was the end of the month and I guess he just needed to write tickets.

Only ticket in the Solstice was a toll ticket running through the plazza without stop. But that was done on Labor Day by Gentleman Jack driving it home from The SMMM9 when I went to the Hospital. The ticket just came in the mail its a wopping 6.00 due by Dec 17,2013. the Last ticket I got was in 1991 in my 47 Pontiac doing 77 in a 25 zone he gave me a ticket for exceeding the posted limit. Then it was 45.00. OH ( GJ ) flew in from SD,Califorina he is on the Kappa Forum.

Only ticket in the Sol was because I had to veer into the RIDICULOUS HOV lane to avoid a Jeep Waggoneer who decided to push me out of my lane. I had no choice but to take the HOV lane or my passenger side would have been smashed. The cop had just finished citing another driver and he quickly hit his lights and pulled me over. I asked him if he had seen that d%^&#$*ed Jeep, but he swore he only saw me driving in the lane. Guess I can't blame him - the car is gorgeous and the top was down! He asked all kinds of questions about the car and commented on how beautiful she is, but he still wrote the ticket. Cost me $65. Guess I was lucky - I've heard the fine in Denver is $300.

30 yrs of no tickets and then...

Got nabbed while passing an 18 wheeler. 89mph..The speed limit here is 75mph. Took the driving course and passed and the ticket was dismissed. And..I have a radar detector but the trooper didn't have his radar on until he saw me and BAM!

Never again. ;)

Yeah, I had a radar detector back in the day and while a lot of times it helps, there's the times where the cops selectively use them and then they are useless. Good thing is DD is so easy these days and now that you can take it every year, it's almost like a free pass. My problem is I usually have an open beer in the car so I try to stay under the radar.
