I just got back from the Tampa International Auto Show. They had the Chevy Cobalt SS, it looks like a really nice car. However there was no Solstice at the Pontiac area. I asked all their show people there, and they said they're not allowed to send info out about the Solstice yet, and you wont see it at normal Auto Shows like that till it's ofannounced. Well see it at SEMA Show of course though as GM has said, with GM Performance Parts.

I'm home from the California Int. Auto Show in Anaheim, and they DID NOT have a solstice. The product specialists were actually very upset, because they really wanted to show the car. The said it will definately be at the Los Angeles show, and after the 1st of the year would be a good time to talk to a dealer. She said there were only 2 or 3 available Soltices for display around the country, and it didn't make it to this show.

That was the major reason I went. Oh well, maybe next time.

To the best of my knowledge, GM only has the showcar prototype they had at Detroit last January, and the original concept Solstice for the autoshow circuit. Since there are so many autoshows, it is difficult to get them all over the place. That is probably why those shows went without. Sorry you guys didn't get a chance to see it! It is stunning in person!

Good Luck

I was lucky enough to see the Solstice at the Albuquerque Auto Show last spring and it was more beatuiful in real life than any photo I have seen so far. Who ever designed the body thought 3 dimentional as their work progressed. I hope you get to see it in person PammySolstice. It will light your fire for American designers once more. We have some talented artist in Automotive design. Once they are allowed to create, and not limited to "make it look like a turtle". Jezz I'm tired of them all looking alike.

Have fun,

Those are the first pics I've seen with an all black interior.

Hey! You're right! Now I'll have to examine both and check out all the differences. At first glance, tho, I like the two-tone tratment.

Maybe after staring at it a bit the monotone will grow on me. I'm betting the two-tone come only with a leather "upgrade" in which case I'll have to say "no thanks."

that interior looks leather/vinyl- not cloth- to me. i like monotone, and this bodes well for a black on black solstice...it could look nice with the windshield and strip behind the seat matching the wheels in silver.

Also note the absence of an on-star-equipped rearview mirror. I'm more and more sure this is the base-level interior every time I look at it.

Very interesting! An all black interior! It still looks good, although my initial reaction is that I like the multi-colored interior better. However, the monotone could grow on me.

If you get back for some more pictures, get a few of the interior. The seats, center console, door panels, whatever you can snap. Thanks for sharing them!

Here's a stitched-together pic with the prototype interior inset into speedzoku's pic for reference. Quite a few differences!

Bring a large memory card/many rolls of film and go crazy with lots of really hi-resolution images. Please please please :D

Try to get some images of the underside too as close as you can get. The rear difuser and exhaust. Take some images of the promotional items, or get some and scan them. Take a bazillion images. You'll be the hero of the forums if you do. :thumbs

Maybe i'm blind, but other than the scaling being different and the one being a two-tone, I'm not seeing that much of anything different...
