Has anyone else experienced this? When in reverse one day it felt like the rear end was binding, we changed the fluid and it seemed to fix the problem, but about a week later driving along the tranny quit pulling, resulting in no reverse, no drive, nothing, it would just rev if you pushed the gas. We shut the car off and gave it a few seconds and restarted it and it would have reverse and drive for a very short distance, this is how we got the car home. The transmission only has 23,000 miles on it of normal driving.

I know that thread won't be much help in the resolution of your problem, but I haven't heard of this happening before on this forum, and a search just doesn't turn up any other threads with the same or similar issues. I hope someone here can help you out, but I can only find that single thread.

Hi Nick Walls

I understand that it is not always an option for everyone but I am available to find a certified Pontiac service department if you would like. I can also look up your warranty information if needed. Please let me know by private message if you would like my assistance.

My car had a press in plug on the side of the trans fall out (plugs hole to get to the shift lever) leaked trans fluid but caught right a way. Penske Caddy in Torrance said some of the Caddys with the same tranny were having the same thing happen. They stocked the improved plug but were out of them so it stayed over night. I know there are many things it could be, but very low fluid level could too. No dip stick, must be a bean counter idea.
